Missing the Girls but...

Garett here...

Last week, I went on a cat skiing/snowboarding trip with my buddies Jesse and Doug near Golden, British Columbia. The trip was amazing with every run being the best I've ever experienced and the trip lasted for four full days of mountain fun. Needless to say, I missed my girls a ton and had them in my thoughts all the time. It's amazing how much Parker changed in the 5 days I was gone. She learned to get in the sitting position by herself, can now pull herself up to a standing position, and the day i got back she crawled a real crawl although she still perfers to do it "army" style. Below is quick video clip of my trip to Chatter Creek.

Lady of Leisure

Parker makes me laugh (or at least smile) everyday. Last Tuesday was no exception. We arrived at our weekly mom’s group and once I got us situated, I asked the ladies if they would watch Parker so I could go to the restroom. When I got back, I found Parker’s head in Lucy’s lap and her feet in Kasia’s lap for a foot rub. She got into that position herself. No joke. P.S. Lucy then went on to lick Parker’s head so the whole treatment ended with a wet head. Check her out:

I am funny...

7 months is the best age yet! Parker thinks we are hilarious, she is talking up a storm and generally being sassy. My mom and Don have been in town which has been great since Garett is still in Canada. They stayed in an amazing house on the water north of Seattle. Here are 3 pics from our time there. Yes, that is a hammock in the tree. I just loved the place!

And here is Parker cracking up and my ridiculousness....

Parker’s Pals

It is so fun to see Parker interacting with other babies and getting more of a personality every day. When we were in Hawaii, Parker’s cousin, Meridian, came over from Oahu for a visit (so fun to see you guys!) They were so incredibly cute together and here they are chilling on the bed. Then, last weekend we celebrated the engagement of our friends Doug & Kayko where Parker got to hang out with her Seattle pals: Ryder and little Farrow Yoder. They were pretty funny and I can’t wait until they are playing tag in the back yard! Here they are atop Doug’s pool table!
This week my mom and Don are in town and were are hanging out. Garett is gone skiing in Canada for the week (lucky guy!) and will hopefully have some fabulous pictures upon his return....

Sweet Dreams

Parker woke up at 4:30am this morning. Lame. So, this week’s mission is to sleep and love it. Here is the definition of sleep and a picture of me teaching Parker that sleep is paramount.

Def: Sleep: A natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body, in which the eyes usually close and consciousness is completely or partially lost, so that there is a decrease in bodily movement and responsiveness to external stimuli. During sleep the brain in humans and other mammals undergoes a characteristic cycle of brain-wave activity that includes intervals of dreaming.

Eating...

I love to eat & I love food. Naturally, I assumed my daughter would be the same. Not so much. She is mildly interested but very, very skeptical. I am hoping that in the coming weeks she will have a realization that food is delicious and that she can’t have a liquid diet forever! Here she is trying/wearing peas—not a fan.

Home! There is no place like it....

We are back from a good trip to Hawaii. The weather was ugly (ie windy and cloudy) for most of the trip but it was warm and relaxing….here are a few pics from the trip: Garett and Parker on the beach (she was not sure what to make of sand!), Our little Australian baby on the beach, eating sand, happy in the sun, trying on new surf gear, happy mama ;even under the cloudy skies!.
