Still Waiting...

The only news we have today is that it is our 2 year wedding anniversary! We thought the little Pickle would possibly choose this day as her birthday but at this point ,I don’t think she wants to share with us. Who knows, there are 12 more hours in the day! And we wait some more….

And we wait…

Today is the day that we have had circled on our calendar for 40 weeks! It has been nice to have a concrete date to focus on but we all know it could be awhile…there is not a lot to report. We had a dr apt yesterday and all was well but no news of the pickle’s arrival. And so we wait…

Thank goodness, it is summer time. Hanging out and waiting is WAY more fun in the summer. My mom is in town, which has been great, and we have been hanging out in the sun and getting things ready. Here is a pic from last weekend of, well, the belly. Huge, I know. (the doc did say this baby seemed like she was going to be average size!). The other pic is clearly illustrating that I am bigger then a watermelon. No wonder.

Oh, and I did have a dream that it was Christmas and I was still pregnant. So, it could be awhile!

Desperate Housewife?

I have worked since I was 12. I have babysat, watered plants, taught swim and snowboard lessons, slung drinks, pushed energy bars, running shoes and plastic kitchen gadgets ( I missed a few in there but you get the idea). Pretty fun jobs (as my mom likes to point out) but that is not where I am going with this. The point is that I have never thought of myself to be a “stay at home” type. However, this week was my first experience as a stay at home wife and if this week were an interview, I wouldn’t get the job. I AM 100 weeks pregnant so maybe I get a break but as an example let me just tell you what we had for dinner this week:

Monday: Cereal
Tuesday: Mac & cheese (not homemade)
Wed: Smoothies (too hot to cook)

You get the idea.

Poor Gar. Oh, and on Monday I went to Trader Joe’s at 5:30pm when I had the whole day. Rookie maneuver.

I will try to embrace it and get better since I know it is probably going to be short lived…

Off to unload the dishwasher...

Waiting

We are in the middle of the 38th week and the waiting has started. We are now waiting for this little girl to pick her birthdate…As far as we know, she is still in the "right" position but will find out more tomorrow at our dr apt. I have stopped working (for now) and am doing a few things from home. The best part about not working is that I no longer have to figure out what to wear to work! It was getting hard to conceal the watermelon in my belly. Here are a few pics from this past weekend:

STUBBORN, STRONG, and ME (Garett)

As many of you know our little girl is facing the sky like any reasonably smart person would do. I have many thoughts as to why she is facing up; 1) she wants to be closer to her mom’s voice 2) nobody practices riding a bicycle upside down 3) she’s just plain stubborn like her parents and is comfortable where she is.

So we made the trip to the hospital for a version (manipulation of fetus) in an attempt to get her head to face down. I wasn’t really nervous going into it since Dr. Levine told us it’s not a big deal and we had nothing to worry about. I think Sarah was a little nervous so I did my best to try to calm her with reassuring words.

Here’s how it went down! An Ultra Sound Doctor monitoring our baby, Dr. Levine with his tie tucked in and sleeves rolled up, Sarah’s belly lubed up and deep breaths waiting for Dr. to push her tummy!...oh, and me sitting on the sideline acting like I’m going to help Sarah cope. They pushed and our girl fought the turn but eventually the 180lb doctor got the 5lb baby girl to turn. While this is going on they are monitoring her heart rate; it’s going down and I lose all blood in my brain… I tried to stay standing and strong for my girls but all I could do is find a chair and tell the nurse I needed some OJ??? It became clear our little girl is stubborn, Sarah is amazingly strong, and I’m pretty much a wimp!

WOW, I love my girls!

No Flip

Sadly, the little girl has not flipped. We go in on Tuesday for a manual "version" which means they push really hard on my belly and try to make her turn. Not so pleasant. If she flips, great and if not, then we are C-Section bound. We will see?! More on Wed...

Really , Really Pregnant.

I am so pregnant. For real, this is getting nuts. No wonder people are looking at me like I am crazy! This is the middle of the 36 weeks but only 22 days (plus or minus) to go.

The Seattle gals threw me a great baby shower last weekend – sun, good food, great company. I will post pics when I get them

Below is a picture of me from tonight. Wow. And our newly completed nursery. Note the orange chair where we will be spending lots of hours hanging with the little lady.

Tomorrow (Thursday) we will find out if the babes has gotten herself out of the breech position. Stay tuned and cross your fingers!

Until then….
