Restaurant Round Up
I think it is time to talk about restaurants. If I didn’t have a blog about Parker, I would have one about fabulous eateries so indulge me for a second. Ok, so in the past few weeks we have eaten at some places worth noting:
· Franks Oyster House and Champagne Parlor (Seattle.Near U Village). Um, Yum. This cute neighborhood spot is officially on my top 5 in Seattle. It feels undiscovered and casual enough for a week night with amazing food. Liz and I went there a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about the Beecher’s cheese biscuits with ham and apple butter. Check it out. http://www.franksoysterhouse.com/
· Flying Squirrel Pizza (Seattle.Genesee)- We had a fun summer meal with our pals Megan and Brian at this far away (well at least from Green Lake) pizza joint. It is hip, funky with some of the best pizza in Seattle. If you are ever south of Seattle, get there. http://www.flyingsquirrelpizza.com/Index/Home.html
· Speaking of pizza. When in San Francisco go to Flour + Water (SF). A great, upscale pizza place in the Mission. Word is out about this place so go early. http://flourandwater.com/
Sounds like I need to hit the gym :)
Oh and one pic of Parker Pie from the week. Reading her book in the big brown chair. Check out the hair. Not even clips can tame her mane....

Pooped
Its official. We have had a crazy summer. We just wrapped up a trip to the Bay Area and are pooped. We had a great week down there visiting friends and family and even went to Outside Lands and caught Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews among others. On Thursday night, Garett and I left Parker with YaYa and had dinner with my oldest friends—Amy, Kim and Barb. We have been friends for over 20 years (eeks!) and it is so great to still have them in my life. Here are a couple of pics to prove it. .jpg)

We also went to meet Brooke Ashlyn Larsen who was 2 weeks old. I didn’t bring my camera but I can assure you she is gorgeous with dark black hair and amazing lips.
Team Heitman is looking forward to a few weeks of down time and the change of seasons. Sigh...
Oh, and one pic of Parker in the tub with YaYa...having a BALL!

Ode to Opa
I never had a grandpa. Well, technically I did but I never knew them. Which makes me so happy that Parker fell in love with her Opa this summer. My dad, Larry, just wrapped up a 2 month stay in Seattle and it was amazing to have him here. He learned how to use the baby monitor so Garett and I could go to the movies, he mastered the art of making her giggle when she was protesting her car seat and he brought her toys and treats like a true Opa. Parker said “goodbye” to Opa tonight with a hug and a kiss as she marched off to her bath. I know she loves him so much, I can see it in her eyes. Sadly, there isn’t a great picture of Parker and Opa from this summer but here is my favorite shot of him and Parker from last summer (my, what a difference a year makes!). My favorite shot he took of Miss P and a family shot he took tonight.
Thanks for everything, dad! We miss you already....

Play Pals
It seems like yesterday that Parker and I went to our first PEPS meeting (a mommy group of sorts). I think she was 4 weeks old and I was so upside down I couldn’t put together a matching outfit. We have been meeting with the same people for a year now and I can’t believe what happens to a baby in a year. They went from screaming, floppy, newborns to tiny humans with large personalities. Today 2 of them came over to our place for a play date and I snapped a few shots. Z is so sweet. I love these shots of him. Then there is a close up of sweet P and then Julia and her adorable curls!.jpg)

Summer Shots.
Every year we say we want to stay put in August to enjoy the summer in the NW. And every year we have a crazy August. 5 years in a row now. Sheesh. The good news is that is all been fun but good lord we packed it in. Parker and I just had a fun visit with Lizzie and her little girl Maya (who has been to Seattle 2x in her brief 7 months in this world!!). Prior to that, Parker and I had a whirlwind trip to Whistler to hang with Garett while he worked. And he has been there for 4 months now. Well it feels that way anyway. In all the madness I have not been taking many pictures but I was just reorganizing my pic file and came across some that I love. So it’s a summer smorgasbord of random shots: The first one is from Parker's party with her little pal Jackson. Can you even stand it?!. Next one is Liz and the girls from this weekend, Parker happy on the swings, Amy and her mama at Parker's party. I just love this shot! And lastly one from our fun trip to Sun Valley with the Grissom's. Happy.
